Margaret joined New Auckland Place in April 2013. Prior to working at New Auckland Place, Margaret worked at the Respite Centre in Gladstone for three wonderful years, where she obtained her Heavy Rigid and bus license. Margaret decided to complete a Certificate III in Aged Care when she became a carer for her father-in-law. Margaret supported him in his own home for as long as possible, and would later on help with his transition into an aged care facility.
Margaret has attended numerous workshops, support groups and has also done relief work as a teacher’s aide in both primary and secondary schools. One of Margaret’s proudest achievements is winning the Tafe Vocational Student of the year award in 2009.
Margaret has a wonderfully supportive husband and two beautiful boys. She says that she finds something from her previous training to use on a daily basis in her current role at New Auckland Place. She enjoys learning new things from her co-workers and also from the lovely residents that she cares for daily.
